Anchored in One’s Own inner strength
Note I share with my own coach
Session Key Takeaways:
1. Staying in touch with the feelings of being present, anchored, grounded and calm so that when I face obstacles and challenges, I can find my own ground. The symbolic image that comes up for me is: a sailor throwing the anchor into the sand to anchor the massive ship. When I imagine this image, I feel in my body: stomach feeling safe, strong, secured and very anchored.
2. Recognizing that I have a very unique leadership style in the way I lead myself, a business and others. The difference of leading in my own business vs. in a corporate job is very different. However, I am not going to sacrifice who I am, or my leadership style, or the way that I lead myself and my life at a job even though I am in a different position than where I was before. I can learn to be who I am, maintain who I am across different areas. It’s just going to look a little bit different in the context of a corporate position.
3. Instead of feeling rushed and making rushed decisions. I can create a plan that’s filled with things I care about, things that are meaningful to me, relationship-focused as well as achievement, and supporting goals to prepare myself for the journey. I feel very happy and enthusiastic. I want to continue to make short term and long term plans. It helps me to really be methodical in my approach, well prepared in life, prepared for what to come (challenges/obstacles), especially in my business, and when I do travel.
4. Building the skillset to be anchored, strong in who I am - strong inside myself. So that when I meet obstacles, challenges and failures, I do not make it personal about my self worth. Instead, I am anchored in my self-confidence, my truth, my inner knowing. I continue to move forward with a Sage mindset of, “what did I learn from this experience?”. Also creating a plan on how I can meet obstacle, challenges and failures with grace, with a smile, be well prepared for it.
From today's session, here are the things I received from your support:
1. Being connected to the confidence inside of me that know I am meant to do the things I desire to do
2. Getting in touch with my strengths
3. Feeling present, calm and grounded when I communicate with you about my plans, and what I was able to gain insight on last week
4. Feeling inspired to be more of who I am and express what’s already inside of me.
Post-Session Reflection:
I have been reflecting on building the resilience and inner strength within me in order to meet obstacles and challenges with ease. What I have been able to gather is this:
1. The world is full of opinions, it matters what I stand for even if it is different than anyone else. Master Zen Thich Nhat Hanh advocated for peace when the war forces him to take sides. He chose his own path knowing that it goes against both sides of the war. He persisted and now built a community of peaceful warriors. I aspire to do the same. I aspire to choose my own path in life no matter what anyone else thinks, judges or has an opinion about it. I don’t care. I don’t care if none of the practices I engage in is scientifically proven or validated in the eye of psychologists or in the academia world. I want to be the one that embraces and brave the unseen world, the subconscious mind studies. I will do as my heart leads me.
2. Redefining how I measure success. Instead of looking for external successes and immediate gratifications, I have redefined my goals as: everything is data. Everything is just an experience under my belt. I either gain experience, result or data. That’s it. I keep moving forward. My path is long. Every successes or failures no matter how amazing is just a step on the journey. I can look at everything with a neutral mindset.
3. Trusting myself. Realizing that “no one knows what they’re doing”, and “everyone is figuring it out too”, plus everyone is on their own path — I trust in my own inner wisdom and guidance and places more weight and value on that. I know my path best. I know what I came here to do. No one has the soul blueprint for me other than myself.
