The Hakomi Method to Somatic Healing for Therapists — Manuela Mischke-Reeds | CURRENTLY IN-TRAINING
In my experience, Hakomi is a beautiful blend of meditation, mindfulness and trauma-work. The Hakomi Method is a gentle, mindfulness-based, body-centered approach to psychotherapy that integrates principles from Eastern philosophy, particularly mindfulness and nonviolence, with Western psychology and somatics.
At its core, Hakomi is about using mindfulness in the therapeutic process to access and transform your core unconscious beliefs that shape how you experience yourselves and the world. The name “Hakomi” is a Hopi word that means “Who are you?” or “How do you stand in relation to these many realms?”
Hakomi focuses on the holistic working of the mind-body connection, believing that our bodies hold the memories, experiences, and beliefs we’ve internalized—often outside of our conscious awareness.

10-Day Vipassana Retreat 2018
10-Day Vipassana Service Retreat 2019
10-Day Vipassana Retreat 2019
My Vipassana meditation trainings contributed significantly to my development as a meditation teacher and laser-sharp, intuitive coach. The multiple 10-day silent retreats built a foundational practice for both my personal exploration and professional contribution. This practice is the foundation for my self-inquiry, knowledge and understanding. It’s what I use to help my clients get to the same place of depth within themselves. Silence, stillness and solitude are the pillars that I use to guide myself and others to deep and authentic inner wisdom.
In addition, through self-study and personal practices, I based my approach on Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh and the teachers of Insight Meditation. Buddhism is the path that I root myself, the teachings that I share with my clients. I apply ancient wisdom from Buddhism to modern daily life. Practices of mindfulness and meditation are the key to self-awareness development. These roots are the key practices I share with my clients to help them discover the compassionate, wise, and loving self within, no matter what they are going through in life. What I have found is that Buddhism brings me back to peace, love, joy and clarity. And that is what I aspire to bring to my clients.

I study Jungian Psychology, also known as depth psychology. Such as, archetypal studies, dream-work and subconscious-mind exploration. I engage in dream-work, dream analysis and dream-making nearly everyday.
In addition, a main part of my soul’s work related to Life Purpose, and Soul’s Identity comes from my journey and exploration with Bill Plotkin’s work. The profound teachings on the human psyche from a spiritual and psychological perspective, as well as the nature connection has profoundly impacted me.
When working with clients, I bring this level of depth and exploration in my coaching.

My journey with plant medicines has been a profound one. I sat with Ayahuasca and psilocybin. I use these sacred medicines to access the subconscious mind, the higher-mind, the soul, the spirit world. These experiences have provided profound insights into the human psyche, spiritual transformation, and the energetic layers of healing for me. By working with these sacred medicines in intentional settings, I have cultivated a greater capacity to hold space for myself, and my clients navigating their own journeys of self-discovery, healing, and awakening. This work deepens my connection with the Soul and Spirit world in the unseen realms.

I received my certification through Deborah King's Book of Life: Delving into the Akashic Records, an in-depth online training focused on accessing the Akashic Records—the vast energetic library that holds the soul’s history, patterns, and potential. Through this program, I developed tools to uncover insights about soul journeys, illuminate and transform limiting beliefs, and align more deeply with one’s highest path. This training weaves together ancient wisdom and modern practices to open intuitive access to universal knowledge. With this certification, I now guide clients through life transitions, inner healing, and spiritual awakening by helping them access their own soul-level wisdom and uncover the deeper meaning behind their life experiences.
Weaved in with my Soul Work and Depth Psychology, I incorporate the Akashic Records in my coaching and psychotherapy to support your journey. Receive deeper soul insights, higher timeline, with the higher realm of consciousness to guide your life.

I study shamanic practices of soul retrieval and accessing different parts of the soul, through plant medicine work, and The Four Winds Society. These practices has deepened my understanding of the human energy field, ancestral healing, and the interconnectedness of all life. Through this lineage of shamanic practices, I have cultivated tools to support clients in connecting deeper with their ancestral lineage and receive wisdom, healing, reclaiming their personal power, and aligning with their highest potential. This work allows me to guide my clients on transformative soul journeys of healing and spiritual awakening.
