It’s time to Trust Yourself
As the year is coming to a close, I have been reflecting a lot on what 2023 has brought to me: the incredible lessons that I learnt, the mentors and teachers that I’ve met on this path, the difficulties that ended up being huge blessings for me, the opportunities that landed in my lap.
My one message to myself is:
“It is safe to Trust Myself”
When I look back at the journey of the last 8 years which I have walked on (based on my personal Numerology year, 2023 is my 8th year), I can see the incredible evolution and manifestation of my biggest soul dream coming to life. Unfortunately, it was never ‘fast enough’ in my own imagination, for example, desiring for things to happen the second I said I want it, haha. I am being playful with you here, but it’s true. Things happened in their own divine timing. Things happened also based on the inner soul work that I was willing to go. Things happened based on the decisions that I made. Things didn’t happen because I forced them to, or wanted them to come at me faster.
Timing is weird. It’s never what you logically think it is. You think that, if you want it faster, do more, etc, that it would happen faster. Yet, timing works like this:
Decision x Inner Work x Universe’s Timing = Outcome.
In this equation, you control 2, and the last one, the Universe does. There is an element of surrendering to life for this reason. We are not meant to live as control-freaks as much as some of us would want to lol. We cannot control the outcome, but we can control our input, and our interpretation of our lives. We can intend and dream. We cannot force.
Trust me, I used to be a ‘control freak ;)’, as if that was sustainable.
So when I reflect back on all of the good decisions that I have made in 2023 which I feel incredibly proud of, the lesson that I gathered for me is,
“It is safe to Trust Myself”
Why? Because someway, somehow, my intelligent being and yours know exactly what it is that we need, who is good for us, who is not, what situation would help us grow, what would shrink our talents, and what would be ultimately aligned for us. This source of Intelligence lives in me and it lives in you.
It lives in an Octopus, that’s for sure. And if you don’t trust me, go watch My Octopus Teacher. You will know, haha.
Well, I will spill some thoughts on that here: the Octopus borns without parental guidance in the wild world. In the sea of danger, the baby Octopus, through its instinctual intelligence (you could call that Octopus’ intuition), it learns to navigate the world on its own, and remain to be an incredibly smart, savvy, highly survived species.
I believe there is a part of us that is just like the Octopus. We have that inner compass and guidance that guides us at all times. Thankfully, our parents give birth to us, and also thankfully, they don’t teach us everything haha. They teach us enough, and we then go out into the world, learn things through our own navigation system. Interestingly enough, we all have a unique navigation system.
Our navigation system are uniquely tailored to our innate born gifts. Some people are drawn to music, art, and others mathematics, or the body. They then become musicians, artists, or scientist, or body-workers. Of course, these are not all inclusive, I don’t technically fit into any of the category I just mentioned, but I hope you get the point.
I think I was born to talk… but that’s for another day.
If you reflect back on your 2023, what would be your lesson for yourself? What decisions reflected self-trust and how did they turn out for you?
And if you could from this moment on, trust yourself even more fully in 2024 — what would you ask for? What would you write down as your intention for the year? What experiences would you seek?
I believe it’s time for me and you both to level up our self-trust capacity. That is not to say you don’t have any, or it’s low. Every once in a while, you gotta upgrade the system, just because — so let’s upgrade it, just because! So that we can grow stronger, more grounded in who we are, and why we are here.
Take your time to reflect, journal and think. Don’t skip the most important part. I know reading my stuff is important, but actually, writing your stuff is more important.
I love you. Thanks for reading my self- referential humour, which I tend to write and laugh to myself. I honestly don’t even know why.
